Q&A: Ordering and delivery
How quickly do you deliver firewood and briquettes in Tallinn?
We deliver in Tallinn and Harju County, usually within 1–3 working days. Border areas by agreement. The delivery cost depends on the order size and address and is agreed before the order is confirmed.
Can I pick up my order from your warehouse?
Yes. Our Tallinn warehouse is at Veerme 23 (Nõmme border). Pick-up is possible any day, Monday to Sunday, by prior arrangement. Please call +372 52 388 52 before coming. It is a warehouse, not a shop.
What is the minimum order?
The minimum warehouse order is 12 units in total. Bags of firewood, packs of briquettes and bags of cow manure can be combined. A separate cow manure order is at least 5 bags.
How can I pay?
In cash, on delivery or when you pick up from the warehouse. We do not have a card terminal, so card payment is not possible. The total amount is agreed in advance by phone and depends on the log length, bag size, quantity and delivery distance.

Q&A: Kiln-dried firewood
What firewood do you sell?
Kiln-dried alder, black alder (Alnus glutinosa) and birch firewood in mesh bags of 20, 40 and 60 litres. Alder and birch come in 25, 30 and 40 cm logs; black alder in 30 and 40 cm logs.
What are your firewood prices?
Warehouse prices including VAT: 25 cm / 20 L bag – alder €3.15, birch €3.80. 30 cm / 40 L bag – alder €5.15, black alder €5.25, birch €6.00. 40 cm / 60 L bag – alder €8.00, black alder €8.00, birch €9.70. For delivery, the delivery cost is added.
What is the moisture content of your firewood and why does it matter?
Our firewood is kiln-dried and the moisture content of 10–15% is checked before packing. Dry firewood lights easily, does not hiss, burns down completely and gives more heat than firewood that is not dry enough.
Which log length should I choose: 25, 30 or 40 cm?
25 cm logs (20 L bag) suit smaller stoves, cookers and fireplaces. 30 cm logs (40 L bag) fit most stoves and fireplaces. 40 cm logs (60 L bag) suit deep fireplaces, large stoves and Bullerjan-type stoves. You can combine different lengths in one order.
How much does a bag weigh and how many bags make a cubic metre?
20 L bag: alder about 6 kg, birch about 7 kg. 40 L bag: alder and black alder about 12 kg, birch about 14 kg. 60 L bag: alder and black alder about 18 kg, birch about 21 kg. 1 m³ of stacked firewood is about 50 bags of 20 L, 25 bags of 40 L or about 17 bags of 60 L.
Which firewood should I choose: alder, black alder or birch?
Alder lights quickly and is good for starting a fire. Birch gives a strong flame and steady heat for main heating. Black alder is slightly denser than common (grey) alder.
Can I use your firewood in a sauna stove?
Yes. All our firewood is suitable for stoves, cookers, fireplaces, sauna stoves and outdoor stoves.
How should I store firewood?
In a dry, ventilated place, protected from rain and moisture.
Do you take back empty mesh bags?
No. The plastic mesh becomes brittle in UV light over time and cannot be reused.
Q&A: RUF wood briquettes
What wood briquettes do you sell and how much do they cost?
RUF wood briquettes in 10 kg packs of 12 rectangular briquettes: light, dark and birch RUF, all €4.50 per pack (warehouse price including VAT). Briquettes are sold by the pack only, not by the pallet, and are convenient to order together with firewood.
Which stoves are RUF briquettes suitable for?
For most common heaters: fireplaces, stoves, cookers, boilers and Bullerjan-type stoves. Be careful with old stoves built with clay mortar – see the next question.
Can I use briquettes in an old stove built with clay mortar?
Be careful. Briquettes give stronger heat faster than firewood and over time this can damage the clay mortar between the bricks. Use briquettes moderately and together with firewood, start with 1–2 briquettes and have a stove builder check the stove from time to time. Cast-iron fireplaces, fireplaces with a fireproof firebox and sauna stoves do not have this problem.
How many briquettes should I put in at once?
It depends on the stove. For a cast-iron fireplace or a boiler, follow the manufacturer's instructions. The Estonian Rescue Board (Päästeamet) recommends filling the firebox no more than 2/3 full.
Can I burn briquettes together with firewood?
Yes. For example, light the stove with firewood and then add briquettes.
How much ash do briquettes leave?
Little. According to the supplier, the ash content of dark RUF is about 0.5% and of birch RUF about 0.6%.
Q&A: Rotted cow manure
How long has the cow manure been rotting?
More than 3 years. It is fully rotted, has a neutral smell and does not burn plants.
What is rotted cow manure used for?
For planting and transplanting, spring and summer top dressing, vegetable beds and greenhouses, fruit trees and berry bushes, perennials and roses, and for starting a compost heap.
What nutrients does rotted cow manure contain?
Seven nutrients: nitrogen (N), phosphorus (P), potassium (K), calcium (Ca), magnesium (Mg), iron (Fe) and manganese (Mn) (source: “Luua Metsanduskooli väetamisõpetus”, 2004).
How much does rotted cow manure cost?
30 L bag (20–25 kg), warehouse prices: 1–4 bags €9.00, 5 bags €7.50, 10 bags €7.00, 20 bags €6.50, 30 bags €6.00, 45 or more bags €5.50 per bag.
What is the minimum order for cow manure?
A separate cow manure order is at least 5 bags. Together with firewood or briquettes (12 units in total) you can take just 1 bag.
How should I store rotted cow manure?
It keeps for years. Keep it in the bag, protected from the weather.
